Southernish, led by Chef Joe Rousey, is a personal chef service offering hands-on cooking classes, workshops, and private events at our Lemont, IL culinary studio—alongside thoughtfully curated in-home dining experiences.
As the name suggests, we love to teach folks about, cook, & eat southern food.
As the -ish implies we make lots of other food as well, from American classics to Asian and everything in between.
Cooking Classes +Events
We offer a calendar full of hands-on cooking classes that are open to the public as well as classes and events for private groups at our location in Downtown Lemont!
Classes are intimate in nature, and provide hands-on instruction. Learn new techniques, taste new ingredients, + have some fun with us.
In small groups, you’ll prepare a selection of dishes, then gather at a beautifully set communal table to savor the meal you’ve created—sharing good food, stories, and community!
Personalized Culinary experiences
Our personal chef service brings the restaurant into your home.
Chef Joe + the Southernish team work with you + your guestlist to create a unique + personalized event in your home. We do the cooking + even the clean-up, allowing you to feel like a guest in your very own home! All of our food is local and organic when possible, and is hand crafted just for you.
With the opening of our culinary studio, availability for in-home dining is limited and books well in advance. For those looking for an alternative setting, you can also host your chef-driven experience in our intimate studio space in Downtown Lemont—the perfect backdrop for a memorable gathering.
