The Kentucky Mule
The Kentucky Mule is the southern cousin of the Moscow Mule. While it may not have quite the long history as some of Kentucky’s other famous cocktails, it’s still a fine cocktail. For the bourbon fans out there who are looking for something a little lighter and refreshing on those hot summer days this is it. It has sweetness, a little hit of acidity, and the rich fullness of the bourbon. Plus it’s very easy to make into a batch cocktail for when you have friends over.
Here is what you need:
2 oz bourbon (I prefer Four Roses)
1/2 oz lime juice (plus wedge for garnish)
Ginger beer (I prefer Fever Tree)
Copper mug or old fashioned glass
Mint for garnish
Now to put it together:
Mix your bourbon and lime juice in your glass and stir to combine
Add ice
Float the ginger beer on top
Garnish with lime wedge and mint
Enjoy!
